Path to Design Updates - Mar
Getting back on track.
Looking back on the month of March, I'm glad to see that I've managed to get back to working on Path to Design. With everything going on with the house, personal life, plus work, it has beed difficult managing it all. With that being said, I told myself regardless of what's going on, I can at least dedicate an hour or two on Path to Design everyday.
Sure I skipped a few days here and there out of necessity, but I tried to be as consistent as possible. With the hours that I put in, I was able to see progress with the site.
Not only did I manage to record the highest total submissions on the site for the month (9! Experienced designers working at Google, AWS and Shopify wrote in), but I was able to see traffic spikes. I was unable to recreate the spike for the month of October last year, nonetheless, people were checking out the site.

I told myself that it was time to build a lead generator to help me collect emails. So I designed a short quiz to help aspiring designers to help guide them on their journey.
Upon shipping the quiz, I collected my first email on the same day. It's great to see people interacting with the site in a different way. I've collected a handful of emails and I'm reaching out to each one of them individually to understand their needs. Instead of sending unecessary emails that doesn't bring value, I'd rather understand their needs. Hopefully, giving me insights and possible ideas of a service/product that I could one day build.

Next steps
I need to continue reaching out designers and ask them to submit their stories. However, since I'm one person, I want to start automating this process as much as possible. Finding new quality leads and reaching out to them is time consuming, if I can save some time through automations, I'll be able to focus on other things.
Speaking of, I want to start building up a social media presence and get the Path to Design name out there. Right now, you can only consume the content on the website, but I want to start sharing snippets of the content on different social media platforms to help drive traffic to the site.
Hopefully, by the next update, I'll have a social media presence and be able to share some insights on how it's going.
